Mohamed Salah has scored just one Premier League goal since November, leaving his Liverpool future uncertain as his scoring drought reaches a career-high 10 games.

Since returning from the Africa Cup of Nations, Salah's attacking output has halved, averaging 0.56 goals and assists per league game compared to last season's 1.25. His xG (expected goals) has also plummeted from 0.68 to 0.34 per 90 minutes, while his touches in the opposition box have decreased significantly.

The Egypt star's recent frustration boiled over in a Leeds United interview where he claimed the club had "thrown him under the bus" for being left out of the starting XI. Though he later apologised, his form has not returned to the level that made him Liverpool's most prolific attacker. Manager Arne Slot acknowledges Salah's self-imposed standards are the issue, stating he always starts scoring again eventually.

Liverpool's chances of silverware this season depend heavily on Salah, who remains their best player despite the slump. Saudi Arabia and the USA are potential destinations if he departs, but his £200,000-a-week wage demands and Liverpool's refusal to let him leave for free next summer complicate matters. His legacy as a Liverpool great is secure, with 252 goals already placing him second all-time at the club behind Ian Rush.
