Rangers chairman Andrew Cavenagh has confirmed a major squad rebuild this summer while fully backing manager Danny Rohl to lead the club forward. Despite finishing third in the Scottish Premiership and losing ground to Celtic, Cavenagh believes the German coach can deliver titles with the right reinforcements.

The chairman revealed the club has invested between £30m-£40m in players since taking over, yet watched their points tally decline from 92 to 72 over four seasons. Rangers' third-place finish left a bitter taste, with Cavenagh stating bluntly: "Either you win a title or you don't." The collapse post-split, including four consecutive defeats, ultimately cost them Champions League qualification.

Cavenagh addressed the recent captain James Tavernier controversy, calling the handling of his potential farewell "not the right look for the club." He emphasized the need for players with "steel, experience and leadership" to complement existing talent. The recruitment focus will prioritize mentality alongside technical ability.

The chairman concluded that Rangers currently possess good players but lack a cohesive team unit. Success, in Cavenagh's view, means only one thing: "bringing titles to Rangers," starting next season through targeted quality additions rather than squad volume.
