Premier League Managerial Chaos: 2025-26 vs 2022-23

The Premier League has seen 10 managerial changes in 2025-26, but the speed of these departures marks a stark shift from previous seasons. In 2022-23, managers leaving their jobs had been in position for almost twice as long as those who have left this campaign, with the average tenure sitting at 17.5 months compared to just 9.1 months now.

Almost half of this season's departures came before the six-month mark. Ange Postecoglou was axed after a record 39 days at Tottenham, while Igor Tudor lasted just 44 days at Juventus. Only three managers this season have been in their role for more than a year. In contrast, the 2022-23 campaign saw Nathan Jones depart Southampton after three months, but all other departures had served at least six months.

The 2022-23 serial changers found mixed results: Leeds and Southampton were both relegated despite their upheaval, while Chelsea finished 12th. This season's pattern shows similar unpredictability – Forest look safe, but Chelsea appear set to miss out on Champions League qualification while Tottenham could face relegation for the first time in almost half a century.
