Norwich City defender Jose Cordoba earned his spot in Panama's 26-man World Cup roster, becoming the only UK-based player selected for the tournament. The 24-year-old joined the Canaries in 2024 and featured 30 times this season, impressing enough to secure his place on the plane to North America.

Panama returns to the World Cup stage after their debut in Russia 2018, where they failed to win a point in England's group. This time, Cordoba's inclusion adds Premier League experience to a squad seeking better fortunes. He made 30 appearances for Norwich this campaign, establishing himself as a reliable option at the back.

Group L presents a familiar challenge for Panama, with England awaiting them in New Jersey on June 27. Croatia and Ghana complete the group, making progression difficult for the Central American side. Cordoba will compete for defensive minutes alongside nine other defenders named by manager Thomas Christiansen.

Panama's squad includes goalkeepers Orlando Mosquera, Luis Mejia and Cesar Samudio, while midfield options feature Anibal Godoy and Adalberto Carrasquilla. The attacking trio of Ismael Diaz, Cecilio Waterman and Jose Fajardo will need to find goals to avoid another winless group stage exit.
