Nottingham Forest to offer £45m for Lucas Bergvall

Nottingham Forest are reportedly preparing a £45m offer for Tottenham midfielder Lucas Bergvall, having had a previous bid of £38m rejected. The 20-year-old Sweden international is understood to favour a move to the City Ground, having experienced limited game time at Tottenham under Roberto de Zerbi, often out of his preferred position.

New Forest boss Oliver Glasner expressed a desire for new signings to join the squad quickly, though acknowledged that current targets involved in international tournaments would require time. Bergvall joined Spurs in 2024 from Djurgarden and was named their player of the year in his debut Premier League season. He signed a contract extension until 2031 in April 2025.

Despite playing 33 games last season, Bergvall missed two months due to ankle surgery. He has 14 caps for Sweden. Forest are also seeking reinforcements in other positions, including a goalkeeper and a striker, but are prioritizing quality over quantity after last summer's extensive spending.
