Newport County have appointed former Fulham under-21 coach Hayden Mullins as their new manager. The club were four points adrift of safety in League Two when Nelson Jardim's successor Fuchs was named in November, guiding them to survival before departing on the eve of pre-season for the 2026-27 campaign.

Mullins becomes the third successive summer managerial change at Rodney Parade and the fourth permanent boss under owner Huw Jenkins since his January 2024 takeover. The former England Under-21 international played for Reading, Birmingham City and Notts County before moving into coaching at Watford's youth system in 2016.

He twice took temporary charge of Watford's senior side and managed Colchester United permanently from May 2021 until his sacking less than a year later. After a brief stint with the Turks and Caicos Islands national team in 2023, Mullins joined Fulham as under-21 boss, leading the young Cottagers to Premier League Cup glory with a 4-0 victory over Tottenham Hotspur Under-21s in the final.
