### Mikel Arteta Close to New Arsenal Contract Deal

Arsenal are finalizing a new long-term contract for manager Mikel Arteta, with discussions progressing positively according to well-placed sources. Arteta, whose current £10m-a-season deal (plus £5m Champions League bonus) has nine months remaining, has stated his "will certainly is to be here" and that talks are proceeding "in a very organic way." Chief executive Richard Garlick confirmed it is merely a "matter of time" before the agreement is signed, which will make Arteta one of the world's highest-paid managers.

Since his December 2019 appointment, Arteta has transformed Arsenal from a club without Champions League football into Premier League champions for the first time in 22 years. The squad, with an average age of **26.2 years**, is at its peak and favored to retain the title while challenging for a first Champions League trophy. Arteta wields unprecedented authority at the Emirates, controlling all first-team decisions and leading pursuits for stars like Vinicius Jr and Julian Alvarez.

The new deal reflects mutual ambition: summer signings Bruno Guimaraes and Ezri Konsa represent significant investment, while failed pursuits of elite talent demonstrated owner Stan Kroenke's willingness to spend. Already the longest-serving manager in the Premier League and EFL, Arteta's renewal will extend his tenure toward a decade in north London, with no signs of his intensity diminishing.
