Republic of Ireland captain Katie McCabe will depart Arsenal at the end of the season after 11 years with the club. The 30-year-old, who was emotional following her last Emirates Stadium appearance against Everton, made 305 appearances and scored 37 goals for the Gunners during a decorated career.

McCabe leaves as one of Arsenal's greatest players, having won the WSL title in 2019, the Champions League in 2025, and multiple domestic cups. She was named Arsenal's player of the season in 2021 and 2023, departing with every trophy available after joining from Irish club Shelbourne in 2015 and spending a season on loan at Glasgow City in 2017.

The midfielder's departure comes as Arsenal undergoes a transitional period, with senior players including England's Beth Mead, Spain's Laia Codina and Netherlands' Victoria Pelova also leaving. The club is lowering the average age of the squad and targeting Barcelona's Ona Batlle and Bayern Munich's Georgia Stanway as they reshape their approach for the upcoming transfer windows.
