Manchester United have signed goalkeeper Janina Leitzig from Leicester City for an undisclosed fee. The 27-year-old becomes their second summer signing following defender Andrea Medina. Leitzig has signed a three-year deal after United triggered the release clause in her Leicester contract. She spent three years at Leicester, initially on loan from Bayern Munich, making almost 70 appearances but could not prevent relegation. "It is a real honour to be a Manchester United player," said Leitzig. "I'm ready to bring all of my experience of competing at the highest level." She will wear the number 25 shirt.

Later, Chelsea confirmed the signing of England youth international Nelly Las from Leicester on a four-year deal. The 18-year-old winger/full-back joined Leicester in 2024, making 23 appearances and spending time on loan at Ipswich Town. Las, bilingual in English and Slovak, came through Leicester's academy and represented England U17s, U19s and U20s. "It feels absolutely amazing... to sign for a team like Chelsea," said Las.
