Lincoln City has swiftly appointed Chris Cohen and Tom Shaw as joint head coaches following Michael Skubala's departure to Bristol City. Both 39-year-old coaches had been working under Skubala as assistants during the club's historic rise to the second tier of English football.

The Red Imps stormed to the League One title last season, reaching England's second tier for the first time in 65 years. Sporting director Jez George revealed Cohen and Shaw already had significant autonomy in training sessions and game planning during the previous championship-winning campaign.

George acknowledged this dual-head coach structure goes against convention but insisted it serves Lincoln's best interests. The appointment maintains continuity after a season that exceeded all expectations and could provide stability as the club adapts to life in the second tier.
