Ron Fowler, former executive chairman of the San Diego Padres, is set to become the majority shareholder of Lincoln City. His company Liquid Investments plans to acquire more than 25% of the League One club, triggering EFL approval requirements.

Fowler first invested in the third-tier club in April 2024 and has now been approved to increase his stake. He will also assume the role of chairman at LNER Stadium. The move marks a major shift in ownership as Lincoln pushes for promotion and manages recent financial losses.

The club reported a near-£2.9m loss for 2024-25 despite record turnover of £8.5m. Shareholders injected £3.6m during that period. Fowler’s funding is already earmarked for stadium projects, signaling potential infrastructure upgrades to support future growth plans.
