Brighton are in advanced talks to sign Juventus and Switzerland midfielder Lia Walti, with the 33-year-old eager to return to the Women's Super League. Walti spent seven years at Arsenal, helping the Gunners secure four major trophies including the Champions League and WSL titles before moving to Italy in September 2025.

She has made 24 appearances for Juventus, who finished third in Serie A last season. The Switzerland captain brings significant European experience and leadership qualities to a Brighton side that reached their first major final in 2024, losing to Manchester City in the Women's FA Cup.

Brighton manager Dario Vidosic is building an ambitious squad targeting the WSL's top four. The club's commitment to women's football extends beyond signings, with plans announced in April for Europe's first purpose-built stadium for a women's team adjacent to the Amex Stadium.

Walti's potential arrival would strengthen Brighton's midfield options significantly and demonstrate their intent to compete with established WSL powerhouses.
