Brentford have handed head coach Keith Andrews a new contract extending through 2032, rewarding his impressive debut season in charge. The 45-year-old Irishman stepped up from set-piece coach to replace Thomas Frank last June and has guided the Bees to seventh place in the Premier League.

Andrews acknowledged the pressure of following Frank's successful seven-year tenure that saw Brentford promoted to the top flight. The club's director of football Phil Giles praised Andrews as a "really good fit" after an "outstanding" first season. The new deal comes just nine months after Andrews signed his initial three-year contract.

Brentford have enjoyed notable victories over Manchester United and Liverpool this season under Andrews' leadership. The club now eyes European qualification for the first time in their history. Saturday's home match against Burnley offers another chance to strengthen their push for continental football.
