Bournemouth have secured the signing of striker Alvaro Rodriguez from Elche for a fee potentially reaching £25.7m. The Uruguayan youth international has agreed to a five-year contract, bolstering the Cherries' attacking options. Rodriguez, who celebrated his 22nd birthday with the announcement, is expected to add a more physical presence and depth to the squad as Bournemouth prepare for their Europa League campaign.

Rodriguez joins Bournemouth after a successful season with Elche, where he scored seven goals and provided five assists in 34 La Liga appearances. Real Madrid will retain 50% of any future transfer fee for the player. New manager Marco Rose had previously expressed interest in Rodriguez.
