Bournemouth have rebuffed Arsenal's approach for Alex Scott, making clear the 22-year-old midfielder is not available this summer. The Premier League champions had identified Scott as a target for their central midfield rebuild, but the Cherries are determined to retain the former Bristol City player.

Multiple top-flight clubs have shown interest in Scott, with Manchester City, Manchester United, Tottenham and Chelsea all monitoring his situation. Bournemouth are keen to extend his contract, which has two years remaining, and view him as integral to their plans following his first England call-up in November.

Arsenal have cast their net wider in search of midfield reinforcements, also pursuing Newcastle duo Bruno Guimaraes and Sandro Tonali. While a Guimaraes deal appears more feasible, Tonali's valuation has complicated matters. Tottenham are reportedly closing in on the Italy international, adding pressure to Arsenal's recruitment drive.

The rejection leaves Arsenal exploring alternatives including West Ham's Mateus Fernandes and Lille's Ayyoub Bouaddi. With several suitors circling, Bournemouth's firm stance suggests they believe his value will only increase.
