Arbroath maintain part-time model for Premiership push

Arbroath co-manager David Gold insists the club would maintain its part-time model even if promoted to the Scottish Premiership. Gold specifically mentioned captain Tam O'Brien, who has a stable job and won't transition to full-time football, suggesting loyalty to their current approach matters more than professional status.

After topping League 1, Arbroath exceeded expectations by finishing third in the Championship this season. The club has defied odds with a squad primarily composed of part-time players, bolstered only by a small number of loaned full-time athletes from other clubs.

Four years ago, Gold and Hamilton were players under Dick Campbell when Arbroath contended with Kilmarnock for the second-tier title. Despite another potential fairytale season unfolding, Gold lamented his team has gone "totally under the radar" without receiving the credit their achievements deserve in Scottish football.
