### Hurricanes Edge Canadiens in OT Thriller, Take 2-1 Series Lead

Andrei Svechnikov scored 14:04 into overtime as the Carolina Hurricanes defeated the Montreal Canadiens 3-2 in Game 3 of the Eastern Conference Final. The victory gives Carolina a 2-1 series edge with their second consecutive overtime win. Taylor Hall and Shayne Gostisbehere provided the Hurricanes' other goals in a dominant performance that saw them outshoot Montreal 38-12.

Carolina improved to 10-1 this postseason, executing their possession-control style to perfection. The game-winning goal was initially credited to Sebastian Aho before officials corrected the scoring during postgame media availability. Aho dismissed the mix-up, saying he didn't care who received credit for the overtime winner.

Montreal goaltender Jakub Dobes stopped 35 shots but couldn't prevent the home crowd from leaving disappointed. Mike Matheson and Lane Hutson scored for the Canadiens, who fell despite playing what Aho called their best game of the series.
