Lando Norris topped first practice at the Formula 1 Brazilian Grand Prix, leading Kimi Antonelli by 0.082 seconds with a time of 1m11.717s on soft rubber. Max Verstappen and Lewis Hamilton followed, both over two-tenths behind, though Verstappen expressed frustration over the RB22’s downshifts and steering issues, calling them “unacceptable.” The session saw numerous lock-ups, particularly at Turn 1, with rookie Rafael Camara making his F1 debut for Haas. Gabriele Mini impressed in seventh for Alpine, while test drivers filled the midfield.
Colton Herta’s clean run may secure his FIA superlicence for a 2027 seat. Ferrari’s Dino Beganovic and Audi’s Freddie Slater faced technical issues, limiting their laps and causing a red flag early in the session.
