Ferrari's Rotisserie Rear Wing Experiment Ends Early at Chinese GP

Ferrari's revolutionary rotating rear wing, designed to enhance aerodynamics, made a brief appearance at the Chinese Grand Prix but was quickly abandoned after free practice. The innovative rotisserie wing, first tested pre-season, was used by both Charles Leclerc and Lewis Hamilton in FP1. However, Hamilton experienced a critical failure during a spin into Turn 6, causing the brakes to lock up.

Despite Ferrari's satisfaction with the wing's relative performance and reliability, the team deemed it premature and risky for race use. The wing simply wasn't a game changer enough to justify the gamble, especially with only two units available. Ferrari will now analyze the data back in Maranello ahead of the Japanese GP.
