Ferrari will introduce its upgraded power unit at the Italian Grand Prix, using one of its two permitted updates under the ADUO system. The new engine, featuring a revised combustion chamber and turbocharger, is expected to deliver a 15 horsepower gain, cutting the deficit to Mercedes' benchmark unit. The upgrade has passed reliability tests, allowing Ferrari to focus on performance at Monza.

Alongside the engine, Ferrari will bring a new, more aerodynamic rear wing and may adjust its blown exhaust to reduce drag. The team will also run a special livery celebrating Michael Schumacher's legacy at Ferrari. With the Scuderia aiming to boost its title charge, the updates are crucial after two races without a podium.

Ferrari gains an additional advantage as Mercedes has confirmed Kimi Antonelli will take a back-of-the-grid penalty for a new power unit, following reliability issues. However, teammate George Russell is not expected to face a penalty, keeping Mercedes strong in the constructors' race, where Ferrari trails by 87 points.

Monza has been challenging for Ferrari, with only three wins in the last 19 Italian GPs. Still, the team is determined to strike back, leveraging home support and technical upgrades to close the gap and re-ignite their championship hopes.
