The Philadelphia Flyers have signed Anaheim Ducks center Leo Carlsson to a **record-shattering 5-year, $90 million offer sheet**, making him the highest-paid player in NHL history at $18 million annually. Carlsson, 21, was a restricted free agent. Anaheim now has seven days to match the offer or forfeit Carlsson and receive four first-round draft picks from Philadelphia.

Carlsson, the No. 2 overall pick in 2023, impressed with 61 goals and 80 assists in 201 career games, showing star potential. Last season, he posted 67 points in 70 games and a 53.4% expected goals share. This move addresses Philadelphia's long-standing need for a top-tier center, potentially accelerating their rebuild.
