OpenAI has contributed to a major multi-stakeholder report focused on improving verifiability in AI development. The report, authored by 58 experts from 30 leading organizations, including the Centre for the Future of Intelligence, Mila, the Schwartz Reisman Institute for Technology and Society, the Center for Advanced Study in the Behavioral Sciences, and the Center for Security and Emerging Technologies, outlines 10 key mechanisms to substantiate claims about AI systems. These mechanisms are designed to provide developers with tools to offer concrete evidence that their AI systems are safe, secure, fair, or privacy-preserving.

This initiative is critically important as the AI industry faces increasing scrutiny over safety and ethical standards. For users, policymakers, and civil society, these tools provide a necessary framework to independently evaluate AI development processes, moving beyond corporate assurances to transparent, evidence-based assessments. This collaborative effort signals a growing consensus on the need for rigorous standards to ensure accountability and build public trust in rapidly advancing AI technologies.
