World Train Map is an interactive railway atlas featuring 1,247 notable train routes across 120 countries. Moving away from its former identity as a journey planner, the site now serves as a comprehensive atlas, documenting high-speed, classic, night, scenic, heritage, and luxury lines.

Users can explore diverse routes, from the iconic Trans-Siberian to the Shinkansen, with detailed data including distance, fastest journey time, top speed, and operator. The platform offers specialized views, such as the highest railways in the world and the longest train journeys.

Data accuracy has been significantly improved by utilizing OpenStreetMap relations rather than simple corridor tracing. This ensures that lines are drawn with precision, measuring against real track with high agreement. The project remains a free, open dataset available in CSV, JSON, and GeoJSON formats.
