Radxa unveiled the Dragon Q8B single-board computer featuring a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8cx Gen 3 SoC running at 3GHz. This laptop processor in an SBC package delivers serious performance with 4x Cortex-X1 cores and 4x Cortex-A78 cores, available in 8GB, 16GB, and 32GB RAM configurations. The board includes dual USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-C connectors with DP Alt Mode, two 2.5GbE RJ45 ports, and M.2 expansion slots.

Benchmark results show the Dragon Q8B outperforming the Raspberry Pi 5 and claiming top spots on sbc.compare leaderboards. Early testing used a Debian 13 Armbian build, with Radxa also providing Ubuntu 26 builds at launch. The Snapdragon chip originally powered Windows on ARM laptops, making this Linux adaptation notable but still developing.

Software support remains a work in progress. Official Radxa OS builds lack functioning Ethernet as of late May 2026, though Arch Linux builds have working RJ45. Windows 11 on ARM runs out of the box, which aligns with the chip's original laptop focus. Armbian support provides Debian and server options for users comfortable with manual builds.

Despite early software limitations, the hardware delivers impressive performance for the SBC category. The 50W power draw and thermal issues during Linpack testing reveal the chip's intensity in this compact form factor. Radxa's Qualcomm partnership continues producing compelling alternatives to traditional SBCs.
