Promptless AI Launches GitHub Integration for Auto-Documentation

Prithvi and Frances have launched Promptless 1.0, an AI teammate that automatically drafts documentation updates by monitoring workflows like code changes, support tickets, and Slack conversations. The tool watches for documentation-worthy events and creates pull requests with suggested updates, addressing a common pain point where teams avoid screenshots due to staleness issues.

A year after their initial launch, the founders have refined the system based on user feedback. The new version features 3.5x better voice alignment through fine-tuned models and sub-agents, solving the problem of generic AI-generated content. The most requested feature—automatically updating screenshots—has been implemented thanks to improvements in LLM visual grounding capabilities over the past year.

Promptless is now free for CNCF/Linux Foundation projects, with the team highlighting their work with Vitess, a CNCF-graduated project. Users can tag @promptless on any GitHub PR or issue to request documentation updates, or sign up for a 30-day free trial. The founders note that creative users have deployed Promptless to monitor Slack Connect channels for customer questions and process meeting transcripts to update internal documentation automatically.
