Meta-Directory Aggregates Indie Web Resources

A new meta-directory called theindex.fyi has launched to address a discovered problem: while many indexes of indie blogs exist, there was no central index of these indexes. The creator built this human-curated resource after noticing the fragmented landscape of independent web directories, making navigation simpler for those exploring the small web.

The directory currently organizes approximately 30 indexes into six categories: curated directories, feed-centric indexes, search engines, random discovery tools, constraint-based clubs, and IndieWeb infrastructure. Each category serves specific needs, from human-maintained blog lists to RSS aggregators and technical constraint-based collections like sites under 250 kilobytes.

With no login required, users can immediately browse the collection or submit missing directories. This centralized approach solves the challenge of discovering independent web content scattered across numerous specialized indexes, creating a valuable resource for both casual browsers and dedicated IndieWeb participants.
