Developer asciimoo continues expanding Hister, a self‑hosted full‑text indexer that captures every page rendered in the browser. The service stores website and local file content, offers offline previews and a query language usable from the web UI or terminal. With more than 30 contributors and hundreds of pull requests, Hister now lets users bypass Google, DuckDuckGo, or Kagi for most searches.

Former Amazon engineer kstenerud released yoloai, an open‑source sandbox manager that spins up containers—Docker, Podman, Firecracker, among others—and injects an AI agent such as Claude or Gemini. The tool creates an isolated copy of the work directory, lets the model make changes, then surfaces diffs as git‑style commits. Commands like `yoloai new` and `yoloai apply` streamline iterative coding without permission prompts.

Other hobbyist efforts include Beanback, a Ruby on Rails loyalty‑card service that writes digital stamps directly to Apple and Google wallets, eliminating the need for native apps. The author also maintains a word‑puzzle game Tiled Words, a media viewer called LowkeyViewer, and a TypeScript type checker written in Rust. All projects remain open source and invite community feedback.
