Count Binface, the satirical candidate known for his intergalactic persona, achieved his strongest electoral performance to date in the Clacton by-election, securing 9,455 votes, which represented 26.9% of the total. While Reform UK leader Nigel Farage won the seat with 22,239 votes (63.3%), Binface's nearly 10,000 votes mark a significant personal best.

Comedian Jon Harvey, the person behind the Binface character, has a history of standing in elections. Previously known as Lord Buckethead, he first gained attention in 2017 challenging Theresa May, winning 249 votes. In 2019, as Count Binface, he stood against Boris Johnson, receiving 69 votes. His 2024 challenge against Rishi Sunak garnered 308 votes.

Binface's performance in Clacton positions him within a tradition of British novelty candidates, such as the Monster Raving Loony Party founder Screaming Lord Sutch. Despite consistently losing his £500 deposit, Binface, like other candidates, gains visibility by appearing on stage at election counts, offering a form of protest and satire against political elites.
