Community‑Funded AI Agents Let Maintainers Control PRs

CleverCrow flips the AI pull‑request problem by letting community members fund the issues they care about. Maintainers keep control, pushing an agent only after a community‑raised pool reaches a threshold. The model turns random AI noise into funded, approved work, keeping the repository safe until a maintainer signs off.

Backers pledge a few dollars per open issue or across an entire repo. Pledges pool until the maintainer can press Start; the wallet stays untouched until the run begins. Each run deducts the provider’s token cost plus a 20% platform fee, itemised on the wallet ledger, and any unused balance returns immediately when the PR merges or closes. A $5 pledge can start a small issue, keeping costs low.

The agent runs in a credential‑less sandbox, unable to push or access the repo. A locked‑down service applies the diff and opens a draft PR after maintainer approval. The cycle—funding, approval gate, draft PR, CI rounds, review, settlement, refunds—executes with a single Start click, giving maintainers full gatekeeping while the community pays for compute. This eliminates the need to juggle pull requests.
