CodePen 2.0 has been launched, representing a significant undertaking, even more so than the original creation of CodePen. Key improvements include the ability to import JavaScript from multiple Pens, integrate npm packages via package.json for version management, and enhanced collaboration features.

During the launch week, a developer demonstrated the new capabilities by collaborating with another user on a demo, importing JavaScript from two separate Pens and adding an npm package. The Keyframers, David and Shaw, also utilized the invite feature and live collaboration for a stream on launch day, showcasing the improved workflow. The ability to share Live View during collaboration allowed others to interact with the demo in real-time.

Further enhancements include the addition of MJML as a block, enabling direct building of emails within CodePen. The platform now also supports creating and deploying small websites directly from the Pen Editor, which has inspired the creation of various small projects.
