bigarrow: AI Agents Point at Your Mac Screen

bigarrow is a small macOS command-line tool and agent skill that lets AI agents draw big arrows, boxes and text on your Mac screen. It is click-through, never steals focus, works across every display and Space, and needs no permission to draw. It is a single Swift binary with no daemon, menu-bar icon, account, telemetry, or AI inside. It is, in its own words, an arrow.

The tool targets a specific gap in agent workflows. Software agents can now do real work on a Mac, but they often hit steps only a human should perform, such as clicking "Allow" on a permission prompt, entering a 2FA code, or confirming a payment. Instead of printing "please click Allow" into a terminal the user isn't watching, the agent can point at the button. bigarrow also helps agents indicate the correct window or tab, call the user back with a spoken prompt via --say, walk users through guided setups, and provide remote help.

Agents can point by UI label with --element or by screen coordinates with --at. Every arrow ends on its own after a set time, by default eight seconds, or when the agent process that drew it exits. The arrow can also be stopped manually or through a Claude Code hook. The tool does not click, type or capture anything. It only points.

Installation is available via Homebrew or from source with Xcode 16 or newer on macOS 14 or newer. The bigarrow install-skill command teaches Claude Code and Codex how to use it. The project is released under the MIT license.
