Bending Spoons has agreed to buy Airtable in an all‑cash deal valuing the U.S. software firm at $1.285 billion. The announcement on Tuesday marks the Italian tech company’s first acquisition since its Nasdaq debut last month. The purchase makes Bending Spoons a post‑IPO buyer for the first time.

Airtable offers a platform that blends spreadsheet and database features, letting companies build applications and manage workflows without coding. Founded in 2013, the U.S. firm has grown into a popular low‑code solution for teams across industries.

Bending Spoons has a track record of buying and restructuring digital businesses, combining ready‑made technology with a private‑equity style model. Earlier this year the company acquired internet brand AOL and ticketing platform Eventbrite, underscoring an aggressive expansion strategy.

Bending Spoons said Airtable’s net cash suggests an equity value of about $2.25 billion. The transaction is expected to close by year‑end, pending regulatory approvals. Shares closed at $36.22 on Monday, well above its IPO price of $29.
