Anthropic’s revenue jumped more than 14-fold in the second quarter, Bloomberg News reported, as the Claude chatbot maker readies a possible blockbuster IPO. The AI firm posted preliminary revenue of $11.5B for its most recent quarter, up from $787M a year earlier and $4.73B in the first quarter of 2026. The company also disclosed positive adjusted operating income, although figures are preliminary and may change.

The surge comes while Anthropic battles OpenAI for corporate clients and gains traction among professionals using its software for coding and other tasks. In May the company said its run‑rate revenue crossed $47B, up from roughly $10B in all of 2025. Early meetings with prospective investors are high‑level, led by CFO Krishna Rao, and have not yet addressed specific financials or a valuation, CNBC’s David Faber said. An IPO as early as this fall would position Anthropic among the first major private AI firms to go public, unlocking billions of dollars in capital to fund compute infrastructure, advanced hardware, and specialized data centers.
