Suzanne emerged as an AI tool for designing and manufacturing physical products from scratch. Keet launched as an app to create video courses on any topic. Manus announced it will return to operating as an independent company. Research on emergent introspective awareness in LLMs showed models can recognize their own internal states. Security, Surveillance, and Privacy

A critical Linux kernel vulnerability CVE-2026-53361 was published: a use-after-free in AF_Unix GC vs. MSG_PEEK that allows container escape. Multiple stories questioned Flock surveillance cameras: a New Bedford police officer was accused of using Flock cameras to track an ex-partner; a woman was pulled over at gunpoint twice after a Flock camera glitch; and Flock wanted to tap dashcams in rideshare vehicles for additional surveillance data. A federal vendor with $50M in contracts left a FOIA portal broken for a month. The US tried to stop cartel money-laundering but devastated mom-and-pop businesses along the border.
