Ovechkin's Farewell Season
Ticket prices have surged since Alex Ovechkin announced his retirement as the NHL's all-time goals leader, with demand spiking across the league. Injury Report
The Islanders received tough news as defenseman Alexander Romanov is out six to eight months with a torn ACL. Panthers forward Brad Marchand also suffered a setback, exiting a win with a left leg injury just two days after making his season debut.
Trades and Roster Moves
The Penguins sent defenseman Spencer Stastney to the Oilers in exchange for a player in a deal that reshapes their blue line. Meanwhile, Dylan Larkin turned boos into cheers after scoring in his season debut for the Red Wings, despite earlier trade requests.
Rookie Milestones and Heritage Classic
No. 1 draft pick Gavin McKenna recorded his first NHL goal and an assist for the Maple Leafs. The NHL Heritage Classic returns after a three-year break, with the Jets and Canadiens unveiling new sweaters designed for the occasion.
