One Equity Partners has agreed a $725m deal for Nexora, the technology division of DCC Energy. KKR is expanding its US renewables joint venture with Total Energies in a $1.2bn transaction.
HVAC Consolidation
Tigertail Capital Partners continued its buy-and-build strategy as its Advantage Distribution Holdings platform acquired HVAC distributor Badger Metals, which supplies equipment, parts and supplies to contractors across the region. A separate HVAC platform deal also featured Tigertail, which launched in 2024 with backing from family offices and individual investors.
AI & Software Investment
Thoma Bravo's Blue Matrix moved to strengthen its position in investment research through the Aiera add-on, with Orlando Bravo arguing that AI is reshaping how research is created and consumed. In a related interview, Bravo said the platform will become the standard for the sector. Ardian-backed HR Path acquired AI governance and compliance startup Snap AI, specialising in artificial intelligence and regulatory compliance.
Fundraising & Dry Powder
Data on dry powder shows private equity funds raised in recent years hold far more undeployed capital than previous vintages, a backlog that could pressure managers to deploy quickly. Private wealth investors, meanwhile, are increasingly keen on private markets, though evergreen fund misconceptions persist among these buyers.
Venture & Growth
1Komma5 raised €70m even as its IPO plans remain on hold, underscoring the difficulty of public listings for growth-stage European companies. Europe's fastest-growing fintechs are queuing up for growth-stage rounds, while Project Europe's leadership has stepped down as the fund readies its next chapter.
Regional & Macro Outlook
AusSuper suggested the US-Asia returns gap may begin to narrow, with its head of asset allocation noting that looking at a geography when conditions are tough can be advantageous. In Europe, debate continues over the China threat to local startups, while scarcity is seen as a driver of European AI invention.
Advisory & Hiring
Omni Partners appointed Elliot Tahmasebi as a partner in London, part of a wider round of hires that included Adelis and Aspirity backing Nordic businesses. Customer experience also drew attention, as European consumers pressed for better support from service providers.
