MLB Midday Update: Star Power & Stadium Deals
The New York Mets espn.com secured a victory Thursday as star outfielder Juan Soto returned to the starting lineup and immediately contributed, launching a home run espn.com to aid the struggling club's efforts, offering a welcome boost for a team battling numerous injuries this season. Separately, the Tampa Bay Rays made substantial progress toward securing their long-term future, announcing a tentative $2.3 billion agreement for a new stadium in Tampa funded through a mix of public and private investment sources. Meanwhile, in Chicago, White Sox officials confirmed that a fan who tumbled espn.com approximately 10 feet into the visiting bullpen during Wednesday night's 6-5 win over the Royals appeared to be doing well following the incident at Rate Field.
